Jumping, Laughing, Rolling

We thought we'd show off all of Audrey's new found skills. She hasn't quite mastered the rolling, and the laughing is coming along, but she definitely has the jumping down.

Heeerrreee's Hilda

Since we've had so many requests to see what Hilda actually looks like, we thought we'd share a picture. She was a little hesitant about agreeing to have her picture taken (she said she looked "tired"), but reluctantly agreed. Not the best photo since she's just looking at Audrey, but should help put a face to the name.

Whatchoo Lookin' At, Willis / The King

We can't figure out if she's really confused in this one, or doing her first Elvis impression.

Get In My Belly

Audrey just looks like a little chunk-o in this picture (just like her mother - long story, inside joke) - we think it's funny...

New Developments

The transition to solid foods is progressing slowly but surely. She seems to be getting the hang of it, but we're having some mild difficulty finding the time of day when Audrey is most receptive to eating instead of drinking. Mostly she seems to getting bored rather than having difficulty with the eating and swallowing part. But she's eating close to 2 tbsp. at a time now - the plan is to let her adjust to the oatmeal for a little while longer before we move on to squash/sweet potatoes/carrots. As you can see, she has a little work to do before she has it done perfectly.

Audrey also rolled over (back to front) for the first time last Friday, which is pretty exciting. The problem is that she still has some difficulty freeing her bottom arm, which means that we are waking up a little more often at night while she fusses trying to get it out from underneath her torso. Some we have to provide a little assistance for her before she'll go back to sleep. I think the count last night was about three times. We're sure she'll get the hang of it pretty soon (or hoping, at least).

My Future (II)

Theresa will take any opportunity to try to mold Audrey's fashion sense. The most recent example being last night, when my mowing was interrupted by a couple of sunglass-clad ladies. Funny thing is that I don't think Audrey realized that anything was out of the norm for a good 20 minutes or so. And she does look cute...

4th Months Old!!

We had Audrey's 4 month check up at the pediatrician's office on Friday, and she's still growing on pace. She weighed in at 14 lbs. 8 oz. and 25 inches long. She had to get another round of shots this time around, which she wasn't happy about, but all in all she checked in healthy and happy. And the doctor gave us the go-ahead to start her on solid food, so she had her first taste of oatmeal last night. All in all, I'd say it went relatively well. She looked a little confused, and made some faces throughout the process, but no major meltdowns or complaining otherwise. And despite all of the confusion and face-making, it almost seemed like she liked it. So I'd say that makes it a success.

My First Pumpkin Patch

We went to a pumpkin patch thing in Burke this weekend with cousin's Parker and Sophie. Audrey fell asleep in the car in the 4 minutes it took us to drive there from Nonna and Poppa's, so she spent the first 20 minutes or so asleep. But we tried to make the best of it.

She woke up eventually (thankfully), so the trip wasn't a total loss. She even got to ride down a slide with Theresa - we didn't think it bothered her, but a close up shows that she might have felt otherwise.
