I'm Standing

Until this weekend, Audrey had managed to stand by herself for a few seconds at a time, usually toppling over one way or another once she noticed she wasn't holding on to anything. But for whatever reason, she started letting go far more often, with some pretty good results. This is one of the first times we managed to get her to stand for an extended period, and ever since she's been doing it much more frequently. Theresa is intent on having her walking for Easter egg hunts in a few weeks - we'll see how that goes! Don't be distracted by her chiseled legs...

Audrey vs Food

I think most of you are aware that Audrey has had her struggles with food - the bottle, in particular, mostly due to reflux. Or at least that's the theory. We went from multiple brands of regular formula, to formula with zantac, then to soy formula, then to soy formula with zantac. All of the changes would work for a while, then she'd revert to refusing her bottle. Well, a couple of weeks ago the doctor put her on Prevacid, which is basically more powerful, in an attempt to curb whatever discomfort she was having. So far, so good, and she's back to eating and drinking like a champ. She has her nine month appointment tomorrow, so we'll find out how well she is doing in terms of weight gain then. Her visit last Tuesday she had already gained a little bit of weight from the week before, but she's been stuck shy of 17 lbs. for the last few months.

But in an effort to keep us on our toes, around the time she started taking the bottles again she stopped letting us feed her, at least without her participating in the process. So now it's all about the finger foods! I think so far her favorites are cheese and avocado. Oh, and mac 'n cheese. Obviously, it gets a little messy...

Mmmm....Cupcake

Audrey's cousin Sophie had her first birthday party last weekend, and we decided to let Audrey indulge in some birthday cupcake. It's safe to say she likes cupcakes more than playing in the snow, or the grass (which we just found out she is deathly afraid of sitting in - we'll have to work on that). She might have her dad's sweet tooth...

Tear It Up

Audrey recently discovered that she loves newspaper circulars, catalogs, cardboard advertisements, basically anything paper-related and relatively colorful. She started off just playing with them, waving them around, that sort of thing, but has recently discovered her ability to tear them up. The victim in this video is the West Elm catalog.

I do wonder whether this is the type of behavior we should be encouraging, but I think it's kind of fun to watch, and plan on letting it continue for a while (I'm unsure of Theresa's opinion :-)). Be warned, if we're visiting, no paper is safe...

Snow Day

Typical to basically go without snow for the entire winter, just to have 5+ inches fall in the beginning of March. We got Audrey out in the snow for a little while, but we're not convinced that she had that much fun. :-) I'm sure next year she'll feel differently.

Swim Class

Finally got a chance to document a swim class a couple weeks ago - Audrey really seems to like the water, although she does spend a good amount of time trying to get water in her mouth one way or another.
