Mommy Audrey

So, this morning Theresa decided to give Audrey a cabbage patch doll that she got for Christmas (I think, and now I can't remember who gave it to her...sorry!) to play with. Well, she and her baby have been almost inseparable since. Even though she tries to steal the baby's bottle once in a while, she's generally shown a great motherly instinct (which hopefully isn't put to use for at least 25 years, unless it's with a sibling). Anyway, we think she's just hilarious with this doll, and took some pictures to share.

Parker's First Birthday!!

Cousin Parker's first birthday is on the 14th, but busy summer schedules resulted in a celebration last Saturday, August 8th. It was quite a shindig, and Audrey had a blast hanging out with her cousin and the rest of the family. And despite all the toys and decorations, the ice buckets were by far the hit of the party. Parker looked like she had a blast, but was pretty zonked by the end of the night. Happy 1st to Parker!!

Girls' Day Out

Theresa spent last Thursday with a couple of friends (shout out to Jennie and Corrina) for a play date. Apparently they all had a lot of fun, and even though Maya has some catching up to do, Audrey and Addison were both more than willing to shower her with hugs (even though it's hard to reach sometimes) and kisses and welcome her to the crew. Apparently the highlight was Addison's chair, since that seems to be where most of the action occurred.

We recently bought Audrey a little foam Dora chair that she loves (she's constantly in and out of it), but according to Theresa she was much more fond of this one. So now we have to buy her one. I think she gets her lounging technique from her Daddy.

Sprinklin'

For the past week or so we've set up the sprinkler in the backyard at night to give Audrey a few minutes to run around and play in the water. She liked it almost immediately, and even though the water makes her flinch a little, it certainly doesn't slow her down. It's even brought back some childhood memories for Theresa and I, so we've had fun running around and getting a little wet ourselves.

You can almost see her breaking the sound barrier in this one.

Audrey's First Garbage Can

We spent my birthday up in York for Audrey's first "garbage can", which is essentially a clam bake, but not called a clam bake (for reasons not pertinent to the blog). Audrey had a great time hanging out with her Bardolf relatives by the pool, but seemed to have the most fun making friends (and feeding) Lilly (the dog). Aunt Meredith was especially pysched to get some quality time.
