Apple Pickin'

We promised ourselves after our last few posts that it would be less than two weeks until our next one....

We just recently found out about this farm/apple orchard about 30 minutes away, so we decided to take Audrey out to pick some apples and enjoy some nice fall weather. The farm had acres of trees, some farm animals to feed and pet and a hay ride around the property and out to the pumpkin patch (which Audrey wasn't a huge fan of...pumpkin vines are prickly, for those that didn't know). We all had a great time, got out on a nice fall day, and managed to pick up about 17 lbs of apples (pickin' is easy)!! We were able to get rid of a little less than half of them by making two apple pies this afternoon, with a little help from Audrey, but we'll have to find some other apple-related recipes to get rid of the rest. Anyway, pics of the goings-on follow...

More York Fair

The pig races were by far her favorite part of the fair. It might have been the crowd that got her excited, or the endless supply of junk food that she ate, but she was putting on quite a show. She was like a social butterfly, which up to this point is completely unlike her, but she was having a blast.

York Fair

Audrey spent last Friday night (and our 5 year anniversary) at the York Fair. It was actually her 2nd trip, but she wasn't really old enough to enjoy it last September. We were lucky enough to have Grandpa, Gma, Aunt Mere and cousin Brady join us for most of the night. Even though she was too small for any of the rides, we had a great time anyway. And she was loving the food...crabcake sandwich, corn on the cob, pizza, waffles and ice cream and orange soda.

Lately she's been pretty obsessed with trucks and big automobiles (buses, etc.), so she really liked seeing some tractors, backhoes, etc. that were on display. Grandpa even let her ride one of the tractors. And we got to see a bunch of familiar animals...pigs, cows, goats, a baby calf, and of course, the famous pig races. It might have been all of the sugar and junk food, but she was definitely putting on a little show at the pig race.

Potty Time

Recently Audrey's shown a good deal of interest in the potty, and while Theresa and I have no idea if she's ready to be potty-trained, we're doing our best to entertain her whims. It started a few weeks ago at the beach, when she came running out of the bedroom with a diaper in one hand, came into the living room and laid back like she wanted to be changed. We mention her "going potty", and she'll try to take off her diaper/pants and head into the bathroom. This is our latest potty adventure...most of them result in a few minutes spent on the seat without any action. Maybe once we buy a little potty just for her we'll see some progress. But who knows. Maybe we need to start thinking about a magazine subscription...

Double Fisting

Audrey's been getting pretty good at feeding herself (for the most part), so much so that she's started trying to challenge herself a little more...

Random...

This is just some of the other random fun we had this summer...

more beach

She could chase seagulls all day...

15 month checkup

Audrey passed her 15 month checkup today with flying colors. She weighed in at 21 lbs 5 oz and is 32.5 inches tall. She handled her shots like a pro and in the short time we were there she managed to fall on her face and bust her lip open...again. We really can't wait for her to get more of her bottom front teeth so the lone two stop causing so much trouble when she takes a tumble!

Summer has come and gone and we have too many photos to show for it! Here are some from the beach and trips to York.
