A few weeks ago we went to Ikea to buy Audrey a new bed, but never had a chance to set it up until this past weekend. We might have jumped the gun a little bit, but with the impending arrival of #2 (we find out what 'it' is on Wednesday), we wanted to be sure Audrey had plenty of time to adjust to a new bed. So Friday afternoon we put the new bed together and took her crib down. We decided to take it down completely rather than just move it into the other room just to remove any possibility of her begging and pleading to sleep in it again.
Fully expecting to have a sleepless weekend, we

got home from dinner Friday night and went through the usual routine, then Theresa laid in bed to read a couple of stories, turned out the lights, and joined me upstairs to watch what would happen on the video monitor. She flopped around once or twice, but basically fell right asleep. So aside from her ending up on the floor for a few hours Saturday night, the whole transition was pretty much uneventful. And while we sit outside her door in the morning waiting for her to come out, she just plays around in her room with almost no inclination to come say good morning. Looks like she's gaining a little independence in her old age...
