The weekend before Brennan's birthday (8/18) we made a trip up to York for the annual garbage can at Grandpa's house. As part of the trip, we decided to make a late afternoon trip up to Hersheypark with the kids to make the most of our time pre-baby arrival. Despite one huge meltdown (Brennan, Audrey and Dad) and a 30 minute wait for a hot dog, the night went off without a hitch. Audrey even got to ride her first non-kiddie roller coaster. Not much other than a few decent sized hills and one big corkscrew, but it was enough to scare her a little bit, which we've found is pretty hard to do as far as amusement rides go.
The garbage can was a big hit too - Audrey and Brennan both ate a whole bunch of little clams, corn, chicken and both of them even tried their hands at crab-picking. Well, already picked crab eating. Brennan got a little bit impatient and tried to eat some shells here and there, but we were happy to see their relatively adventurous attitudes (for the day, at least). The spice bothered Brennan a little more than his sister, but he quickly developed a pretty good routine consisting of a bite of crab, followed by a 15 second chug of water.
