Shoe Tie-er

Over the past who knows how long - it seems like a year or more - Audrey has periodically had fits of interest in shoe-tying. We've read books, we've tried to teach her from time to time (which is much harder than it seems), but no one (including her) has ever put that much effort into it. Well, until yesterday, that is, when she decided she would just figure it out on her own. We were heading over to Nonna and Poppa's to watch the worst Super Bowl in the history of Super Bowls, when Audrey comes out of the living room with one shoe tied, all by herself. No idea exactly how she figured it out, but she did, and has been tying her shoes repeatedly ever since. The double loop technique isn't really our style, but it seems to work for her. And it's certainly a relief for us, as we can cross one more thing off of the "things Mommy and Daddy need to do for me" list. Up next...butt wiping 101.
