Big Girl Bed
If there's one thing we've learned as parents of three, it's that practically nothing goes according to plan. In typical fashion, just as soon as we had agreed to leave Millie in her crib for as long as we possibly could, less than a week later she started climbing out. And so the one chance we had to milk the crib (Audrey and Brennan were both out by 18 months or so) disappeared way quicker than expected. Aside from the 5-6 times she comes out of her room at bedtime and the 6:15 crawling-into-bed-wake-up-calls, the transition is going extremely smoothly. Our only saving grace is the improved perspective that we have, that as our last child (knocking on wood :-)), we can almost actually enjoy all of the nonsense that comes along with this particular milestone. Just like we now understand that hardly anything goes as planned, we also know that there's not much that lasts forever, either.
