1) The garden is struggling, despite our best efforts to keep it afloat. We're down to two (sort of) healthy-looking tomato plants, one pepper plant, and maybe two or three cucumber plants. Despite a slew of overcast days and frequent watering, things aren't looking too good. We've all got our fingers crossed at this point, and already have plan B in place - go buy almost full size plants from the nursery. But hopefully it doesn't come to that.
2) For the past couple months, Audrey's been asking for a bicycle for her birthday. We think that Hilda talked her in to asking for it. Next she'll be asking for a dog (which Hilda also really wants). Here's how it goes...if you ask her about her birthday, or even mention her birthday, she'll say she "me bicycle" followed by, "a red one...no, no, no...a blue one". And then maybe she'll waffle another two or three times about which color she really wants (she will also say her birthday is "June 10", even though she has no idea what that means). She's either undecided about the color, or can't remember which Hilda told her to ask for. Either way, we bought it a few weeks ago and it's been sitting in the closet ever since. Thankfully, it's red and blue, with a little bit of yellow. Since we're waiting until her birthday to give her the bike, but it's been so nice outside lately, we decided to get her a little playhouse for the backyard as an early birthday present. We haven't been able to get her in it too much, but she seems to really like it. Hilda said the first time she played in it for over an hour, and she couldn't get Audrey to go back inside.
3) It's also become apparent that Audrey is an almost obsessive "helper". We can't get anything done around the house without her being involved. Should be interesting once baby boy Bardolf shows up. Just utter something like "I'm going to..." and before you can finish Audrey is darting past screaming "me do!" before she even knows what you were planning to do in the first place. She's even had dreams/nightmares where she says..."no, no, no mommy...me do, me do". So she's even helping in her sleep. This phase will probably be over just about the time she's old enough to be proficient at something other than throwing trash away.
