Trip to NC

Once again we've been remiss in keeping the blog up to date. Summer schedules full of beach trips and other events will do that to you. We spent the last week in June at Grandpa and Gma's new house in Sunset Beach, NC. Despite multiple days of sporadic rain and thunderstorms, we managed to squeeze in multiple trips to the beach and a few rainy day trips to the pool. And we managed a few personal family records in the car - first a 6 hour car ride from Fairfax to Sunset Beach (which went less than spectacularly due to a baby with a fever of 103 degrees) and followed up by a 8 hour ride from Sunset Beach to OCMD to celebrate the 4th of July. Thankfully trip #2 went much better than the first, largely thanks to Millie taking a double nap in the car and sleeping for about half the total trip. Poor thing wouldn't have lasted that long confined to her seat if she was awake. And it was a dream come true for Brennan - a 8 hour movie marathon with a stop at Chik Fil-A thrown in the middle. We'll see if we're so lucky on future trips.
