Futbol

We signed Audrey up for soccer again this fall, at her request, and despite our hesitations. We thought that for the most part, if she was asking to play that she was ready to fully participate (which would be contrary to the last time we signed her up to play). Maybe it was just wishful thinking. The good news is that she has made a ton of progress at practice, listening to instruction, doing what she's supposed to do, etc. The trouble comes when it comes time to actually play 'games' (3 on 3, no goalies). Most of her time is spent standing in one place, watching the other 5 kids (sometimes 4, so we're not alone) chase each other around, run after the ball, scoring goals and playing defense. Or, as was the case last weekend, standing around twirling the draw string on her shorts. There has only been one game at this point, so we're holding out hope that things change by the end of the season, but we have a long way to go.
